Arima Onsen is one of famous Onsen areas in Kansai, which keeps old-world fravor much more than I expected ! It is not difficult to access from Osaka because there is a express bus going to Arima Onsen directly from Osaka. By train ? hmmm... it would be little complicated. Maybe you can try !
