Beauty of SAKURA Night Hamarikyu Garden

Today on the 1st of April, night viewing of illuminatied trees at Hamarikyu Garden starts for 5 days with extended open hours. You see the cherry trees : variety of Yomei-yoshino illuminated and surounded by some buildings in Shiodome area of Tokyo ! Entrance fee is 300 yen !

2nd night garden event is from 16 till 20 April for another variety of cherry trees: Yaezakura  

 

We have so many Japanese cherry trees but they are fruitless  

We brought a bottle of wine and tried to drink on the bench but it is not allowed to bring in beverages and security guards are checking around us . So you just enjoy watching sakura and  drinking & eating foods outside of garden !!!

  

Easy Japanese Cookbook

Yesterday, I have found an interesting book in the bookstore

It is ''Easy Japanese Cookbook''

   

You can charange cooking Japanese typical food like the above ''Tmpura''

Then, let's see some example menu

 

1. Thick-Rolled Sushi (Everyone must know well ''Sushi'', one of popular Japanese food amoung foreign people )

 

2. Soba Noodle Tempura (Collaboration of Soba and Tempura in dashi soup )

 

3. Half-Gong Pancakes (Dorayaki), one of typical Japanese sweets, it is superb

 

The above menu is just example and there are more than 60 menu in the book 

Also, you can learn basic information like ingredients, techniques and equipment of Japanese cooking, not only recipes.

Every recipie is said ''EASY'' Japanese Cooking

Izushi

 IZUSHI is old town in Hyogo prefecture and it is shown in the oldest extant chronicle in Japan KOJIKI dating from the early 8th century.

It is called a little Kyoto in Tajima area.

      

      

 

Soba  (a type of thin Japanese noodle made from buckwheel flour) is famous. You can find one of real traditional Japanese towns here.

 

Also you can find very very good Japanese Sake there ! This below photos are very old sake breweries and sake brand name "SASATSURU" is my favorite sake !!!

  

They have old theater and sometimes you can see real kabuki there.

 

Access for this town : you get off at the JR station TOYOOKA between Osaka & Kinosaki (2.5 houes by express train JR Fukuchi yama line) or from Kyoto to Kinosaki (2.5 houes by express train JR Yanin Honsen line) and taking a local bus from just in fron of the station)  How about stopping  here for going to Kinosaki onsen or on the way back to Osaka or Kyoto ?

Japanese Restaurant 'GONPACHI'

Good morning

I went to a local restaurant in Odaiba for dinner yesterday

The name of restaurant is ''Gonpachi 権八'', which has typical Japanese menu.

 

I enjoying following meal, everything was so superb

Yakitori

Salad

Soba (Japanese noodle)

There are another Gonpachi restaurants in several areas, for example, in Nishi-Azabu, that is actually main restaurant

Kinosaki Onsen

 A Happy New Year everyone !

During new year holidays, I eat and drink, then eat and drink Ahhhhh at last I got very big and now I need a diet ....

But but I want to introduce really nice Kinosaki Onsen. This place is famous for very good crab from Japanese sea. Onsen is scenic beauty associated with many histrical great Japanese writers !

I took JR express  KITA KINKI  from Osaka today directly to Kinosaki Onsen station and it took about 2h30. You can also go there from Kyoto by JR express.

 

Main street ! Wow !!! Crab crab crab !!! But other seafoods are so fresh and tasty too !
