3月13日に第21回シニアバスツアーを実施。レークバルボア公園に12人の敬老中間看護入居者を含む19人のシニアと12人のボランティアがお花見に参加。大変暖かく、満開の桜を眺めお弁当を食べながら楽しいひと時を過ごした。
The 21st senior bus tour was held on March 13, 2013. 19 seniors including 12 residents from the Keiro Intermediate Care Facility and 12 volunteers went to the Lake Balboa Park to enjoy the cherry blossoms.
2月27日に月例健康クラスを実施。スピリチュアルメッセンジャーのＫＵＲＵＭＩさんをお招きし、「今年のキーワードは、自分を愛すること」をテーマに講演をしていただきました。少しでも皆様が幸せで健康に暮らせるように色々とアドバイスをしてくださいました。
Our monthly health class was held on Wednesday, February 27. We invited a Reiki Master, Ms. Kurumi Suzuki. She gave us a lecture about “The importance of loving yourself”. She gave us various advices for us to live happy and healthy.
1月23日に月例健康クラスを実施。自然療法専門医師、小澤栄治先生をお招きし、「高血圧、糖尿、コレステロール生活習慣病の予防と自然治療」をテーマに講演をしていただいた。それぞれの症状の説明と予防や改善する食品の紹介や、家で簡単に出来る運動の紹介等、大変役立つ情報が盛りだくさんの講演でした。
The monthly health class was held on January 23, 2013. We invited a naturopathic doctor , Dr. Eiji Ozawa and he gave us a Lecture of “High blood pressure, diabetes, the prevention of the cholesterol and lifestyle-related disease and natural treatment". The lecture was very helpful and full of information. He explained each symptoms and introduced foods and exercises which may prevent and improve each symptom.

人工透析治療を受けていらっしゃる東京在住のＫＦさんがトーランス在住のお嬢様を訪問される為に11月25日に訪米。お仕事の都合で4日間という短い滞在で、11月26日と28日の透析治療の手配をさせていただきました。今回透析を受けられた場所はFresenius Medical Careのカーソンセンターで、サウスベイ地区在住の日本人患者も治療されている為、スタッフは日本語であいさつをしたり、知っている日本語の言葉をＫＦさんに話したりしてとてもフレンドリーでした。
Mr. KF from Tokyo who is diagnosed with the end stages of renal disease visited his daughter in Torrance, California on November 25, 2012. We arranged his dialysis treatments on November 26th and 28th at the Carson Center of Fresenius Medical Care. This center is frequented by many Japanese patients in the South Bay area and the staff members were very friendly and used Japanese words to make Mr. KF feel comfortable at the center.
11月21日に月例健康クラスを実施。骨づくり財団理事長の笹谷廣治氏をお招きし、「健康な骨づくり」について講演をしていただきました。77歳の笹谷氏の骨の密度は米国人20代の平均値超えており、血圧、コレステロール、糖尿値も平均値で健康そのものだそうです。元気で若々しく、大変楽しいお話をしていただきました。
Our monthly health class was held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. We invited Mr. Koji Sasaya, chairperson of Honezukuri Zaidan, to this class. He spoke about ways to make healthy bones. At 77 years old, Mr. Sasaya has an exceptionally high level of bone density, while his blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels are all normal and he is a very healthy person. He was able to provide a very interesting and youthful lecture and brought energy to the class.
10月21日に第一回チャリティー・ゴルフトーナメントをThe Links at Victoria Golf Courseで実施。28名の参加者が参加して下さり、多くの企業、レストラン、個人の方から寄付金と協賛品のご支援をしていただき心より御礼申し上げます。早朝まだ暗い中の霧雨の降る中チェックイン、7時にスタート。第1グループが2ホール目を終了した頃には雨も止み、その後は良に恵まれました、昼食後に成績発表と賞品授与、ラッフル抽選を行い無事終了しました。下記、ご支援いただきました皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。(アルファベット順)

10月7 日 (日曜日)に開催されたロングビーチマラソンのチャリティーイベントに参加。今年で6度目の参加となり、23名の方がイベントに参 加、そして16名のボランティアの方々にお手伝いをしていただきました。 今年は5 名が５Ｋラン、その他18名がマラソンとハーフマラソンに参加されました。毎年参加されている本格的なランナーの方達も初めてハーフマラソンに挑戦した方達も無事完走後、テントへ集まり、色々な話で盛り上がりました。当日のボランティアの皆さん、大変お疲れ様でした。参加者の皆様、ボランティアの皆様、寄付をしてくださった皆様、本等に有難うございました。
Long Beach Marathon was held On Sunday, October 7, 2012 and 23 runners and 16 volunteers were participated in the event. We are in great appreciation for the generous support from participants, volunteers and donors. This was our 6th year to participate in the event as an official charity. We had 18 marathon runners and half-marathon runners and 5 5K runners this year. This event could not have been possible without the volunteers, participants and donors. Thank you very much for supporting us.
９月１２日にアムトラックでサンディエゴへ６名が参加。アナハイム駅を朝８時に出発し、片道約２時間のアムトラックの旅はとても快適でした。空母ミッドウェイ、港の景色を見学後シーポートビレッジで昼食を食べ、トロリーバスに 乗ってオールドタウンを見学。５時のアムトラックにのってアナハイムまで戻るというスケジュールで、サンディエゴの心地よい海風と景色を楽しみました。
20th Senior Bus Tour was held on September 12, 2012. We took Amtrak from Anaheim Station to San Diego Downtown. It was a comfortable ride. We visited Navy Pier and had a lunch in Seaport Village. Then we went to the Old Town which is the state historic park, by the San Diego Trolley from Seaport Village and left San Diego around 5pm. Everyone enjoyed the nice weather and scenery in San Diego.
8月16日に健康クラスを実施。 機能神経科医、カイロプラクティック・スポーツ障害治療認定医の吉沢公二先生をお招きし、「脳とホルモンバランス」について講演していただきました。 シニアの方達だけでなく色々な年齢層の方が大勢参加してくださいました。 簡単な脳の機能低下度テストや脳の老化を防ぐエクササイズを参加者と行いながらで楽しく、貴重な情報満載な講演でした。

The monthly health class was held on Thursday, August 16, 2012. We invited Dr. Koji, Functional Neurologist and Chiropractic Neurologist. He gave us a lecture about "Brain and Hormone Balance”. A lot of people of various age groups participated in this lecture. Dr. Yoshizawa provided the brain functional test and the brain stimulating exercises during his lecture. It was fun and full of valuable information.
7月11日にシニア会員の方を対象にＮＡＩＳのオフィースで健康クラスを実施。健康に関する情報を提供し、脳を活性化するアクティビティーと毎日家でできる簡単な体操を紹介。会員同士で色々な情報交換をする場を設けた。
The Health Class was held on July 11, 2011. We provided light physical exercises and brain stimulating activities such as finger exercises and easy math drills. Senior members were exchanging their opinions each other.
6月７日に第１９回シニアバスツアーを実施。16人の敬老中間看護入居者と６名のシニアメンバー、そして１6人のボランティアが参加。大変暑い一日 でしたが、ハンティントン・ライブラリー前のベンチでお弁当を食べた後、日本庭園をはじめ、様々な植物や花、展示物を見学して楽しい時間を過ごしました。
The 19th Senior Bus Tour was held on June 7, 2012. 16 residents from keiro Intermediate Care Facility and 16 volunteers went to the Huntington Library. After we had a bento lunch, we enjoyed flowers and plants including Japanese garden.

５月１６日に健康クラスを実施。ロサンゼルスカウンティ―救急救命士、アメリカ心臓協会ＣＰＲ/ＡＥＤ/ファーストエイド・インストラクターの中坂琢氏をお招し、「心肺蘇生法と自動体外式除細動器の大切さ、そしてファーストエイド（応急手当）の意義」について講演していただきました。中坂氏はサウスベイＣＰＲ＆ファーストエイドで講習をされており、クラスはロサンゼルスで唯一日本語講習でライセンス取得が出来るＣＰＲ＆ファーストエイドのクラスです。

The monthly health class was held on May 16, 2012. We invited Mr. Taku Nakasaka, Los Angeles County Paramedic and American Heart Association CPR/AED/First Aid instructor. He gave us a lecture on the "Importance of the CPR/AED and the significance of the First Aid". Mr. Nakasaka conducts a First Aid class that is taught entirely in Japanese where students can obtain a CPR license. This is the only class in the Greater Los Angeles area that is offered in Japanese.

2月16日に健康クラスを開催。よしざわカイロプラクティックの吉沢公二カイロプラクティック神経科医をお招きし、「脳バランスとお子さんの発達障害」をテーマに講演をしてくださいました。脳の各部位の機能と関係、脳のバランスが崩れる原因とバランスの崩れを日常生活で戻していくヒント、そして機能的接続不全症候群についてなど大変興味深いお話をしていただきました。
The health class was held on February 16, 2012. We invited Dr. Koji Yoshizawa, Chiropractic Neurologist, and gave us a lecture. The theme was “ The Brain Balance and Developmental Disabilities” and explained about the brain functions and causes of the unbalanced brain as well as the functional disconnection syndrome.
