雪の日、Nonaが人形と遊んでいるとMr Tiffany JonesがGemもこのように遊べたらいいのにと言う。彼は日本の文化を知り、翌日も日本へむかうところだった。Gemは何でも持っていて幸せだと思っていたが、実は制限された生活をしていた。
Belindaはクリスマスにローラースケートをもらう。公の道では滑ってはいけないのに、Tomと競争を始める。前にもMiss Tiffany Jonesに見つかり怒られたが、今回はMrとMissそしてGemにも被害を与えてしまった。休みが終わったがGemは彼女達の学校には来なかった。

Enid Blytonはもっとも有名なイギリスの児童作家である。Rumer Goddenと同じく多くの子供向けの作品を書いた。
Rumer Goddenの「Little Plum」のように同じ登場人物が出てくる作品を書いたことでも有名である。登場人物が同じで何シリーズもある作品の代表は、「The Famous Five」という作品で、５人の兄弟、従兄弟たちについてのアドベンチャー作品。「Mallory Towers」は全寮制の女子校で起こるさまざまな話を１つのシリーズとして何十冊も書いた。
彼女の作品は彼女が亡くなった今でも多くの子供に読まれていて、ニュージーランドではテレビドラマ化されるなど、イギリスでは誰もが一度は読んだことがある、もっとも有名な児童作家である。

The Diddakoi

-The Diddakoi-
Kizzy, half gypsy girl, was alone in the school. One day her gland mother died. She became alone at all.
First she could live with a man who trusted Kizzy well but the people in the city decided to separate them. She would live with one woman. Although she didn't like her at first, through the life with her, Kizzy was getting change her mind thanks to women's kindness.
One day she was got by her classmates and she wouldn't want to go to school anymore. On the other side, girls got feel sorry to Kizzy. They went to Kizzy's house to invite to fire works. Then fire happened in her house because of Kizzy's mistake. Then they tried to help the woman together, After Kizzy could make a friendship with girls.
Because of fire, Kizzy would live with the woman and the man who she first lived with in his house.
Finally she could live with who trust Kizzy, and make friend, what's more, she got the confidence which she can trust the people in her heart.

-Impression-
I thought it’s a normal personality for the girl who is different from her friends. But I felt happy when her mind was changing at each incident. I think people can change when other’s thinking was changed. After I read this all, my heart was filling with warm feeling of Miss Brooke and Admiral Twiss. I respect them very much. They didn’t change their attitude to Kizzy even if people said anything to them.
