Must be My Lucky Day

Last Sat, I went to a electronics retail store to buy a kitchen timer. When I was closing to a cash register with it, I noticed 'iPod touch' on the way. As I'd been interested in it, I went up to the device. And I was caught by a sales staff the moment I stood  in front of the display table.

I never thought I would buy it coz the price of 8G was over 20,000 yen and I had only 4,000 yen in my wallet at that time. But...

The sales staff who maybe came from 'Mac' or 'e-mobile' was capable woman as a sales clerk. Her item description was very clear & the way of speaking didn't give bad imprettion on me at all. What's more, accoring to her, the store was offering a service & the price of the divice was 21,00 yen now if I signed up with 'e-mobile' for Wi-fi (wireless LAN). Over ￥20,000 → ￥2,100?! I MUST BUY!!

But the lucky happening wasn't all yet actually. When I paid, the staff exchanged some words with a cashier and after that, she said "Well, today is special day this store set up and the 8G is discounted to 19,800 yen. So finally, the price is 1,000 yen, and you'd only pay 50yen to use 950 store points you amassed."

￥2,100 → ￥1,000 → (- 950 points) = ￥50... What?!!

I asked her to make sure whether it was really all right again and again. After all, I got the divice to pay only 50yen. Of course I have to pay communication charge to 'e-mobile', but I think I made a great buy.

 

 

I Changed Security Software

I'd been using a free security software'King Soft' since I was recomended to a friend of mine. Even though I'd thought it was good one to use at first coz it's free software & reliable, it started to irritate me after a short time. Its behavior was sooo slow and I had to wait for 3 or 5 minutes to open only A window. 

I'd been using it in rediculous patience for a long time, but I couldn't stand it any more. I got tired with yelling at my PC in irritation.

Actually I changed provider yesterday, and a staff from CATV came to the house to set up the PCs. He mentioned my PC  worked very slowly & recommended a free software 'Microsoft Security Essential'. So I deleted King Soft today and down loaded it soon. 

I'm not sure if it's good to use it for still only 3 hours now, but I think the response get better than before.  I'll use it for a while.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S DAY?

 Well,,, actually I don't feel like celebrating new year coz  I feel New Year's Day doesn't any difference from other normal weekdays in recent years. Are you spending a happy New Year's Day? 

I am only forced to join in some family pictures, drink 'O-to-so', and have 'O-zou-ni'  & 'O-se-chi' dishes every New Year's Day. I don't know yet if I visit any shrines & temples this year. I don't have any special occasion.

Hmmm... It's not good to be pessimistic, is it? I know ones who think about anything in negative way can't catch any good lucks, though...

Anyway, I'd like to say to all of you including me, "A Happy New Year!"  

Christmas Season

                                 At the family dental clinic.

 

 I went to the dental clinic to take a regular maintenance the other day. I started to go there last year and since then, I have the regular exam & take a maintenance every 5 months. And this pic is the one I asked the staff at the reception counter & took.

 Christmas is comming soon, isn't it? I remember a Santa Clause ornament I should have at this time of every year actually. I wonder where it has gone... I hope I don't lose it for repeated movings.  

 

An Art Work

This Wed, I went to my grandparents' house who'd passed away for a year anniversary of my grandmother's death. And I found an album there. 

There were many pictures that my grandfather, his family & friends had been taken in it, and this was only one artistic picture. The women in the picture is my grandmother. According to my mother, my grandfather was into camera when he was young, and this one is also his work. There was some her pictures he took in the album, and I like it the most. Beautiful, isnt it?        

I got two!

 I got two 'Yukino-hana (雪の華)' at auction at last! 
I had been really disappointed with no reply here when I asked anyone to sell this succulent plant a few weeks ago. But I found it at auction and I could bid TWO plants   Fuffufufuufu...   

Tanegashima

 My brother got transfered to another section, and now he's going to Tanegashima for a business trip. You might guess where he's working at, and yes, you're right. He's working at the space center.
 By the way, I realized I didn't know even where Tanegashima was located.  (I'm sorry, people in the island.)  Actually I have only known Tanegashima = the first introduction of firearms into JP. It isn't a tourist spot is it? 
 Well,, anyway, a certain fact is that I got suddenly feel something familiar to space because of him.  

Tawaraboshi Genba

 Do you know 'Tawaraboshi Genba (俵星玄蕃)' by Haruo Minami (三波春夫)? I'm not a fan of him, but I love his this song and I saw the video at 'You Tube' when I found it last night.
 He was really good roukyoku singer, wasn't he? I got excited by watching & listening his doramatic & dynamic performance in the video.  Even though the same performance of Yoshimi Tendou (天童よしみ) & Aya Shimazu (島津亜矢) whom I like are also uploaded on You Tube, their performances are far below compared to him. 
 By the way, I didn't know Tawaraboshi Genba wasn't a real man. My mother said "He was a real man" when I asked her about it, though...

Good-Bye Cockroach

 I wonder if I have ever introduced this 'Goki-chan Good bye' before... Even if I introduce it here, still, I'd like to introduce it, even though I don't get any points or money from this maker, coz I think it's really useful. 
 Before I knew this product, I'd used borated dumplings (ホウ酸団子) by some makers. But there was nothing better than 'Good bye cockroach'.  Like the item description on the site, I have never seen the creepy creature, even tiny one at all since this product was set in everywhere of house. It's really, reeally useful product. I'd like to say thank you to the maker that produced it.    

P.S. Since there might be sites that are selling it at more reasonable price, please check the others if you'll get this product,,, just in case...

Parallel Universe

 Recently I'm enjoying free novels by common people on the net. There are some sites people can upload their novels and I read many Fantasy stories, especially ones of parallel universe.
 Even though there are many I like & dislike, all of them have something in common. Their parallel universes don't have electricity, tap water, flush toilets, any cars, and  the other mecanical things. People in the different world use magics, horses for land routes, dragons instead of aircrafts, and travel with sail boats. And they are wearing medieval european clothes &  armors with swords, and there is guild.  
 The thought of parallel universe would come from foreign countries, but it doesn't need to be like medieval europe, does it? It should be OK if there's much further developed world in parallel with ours.
 I wonder if someone writes stories of such a parallel universe...
