Hey there!
I am George Yonzon. English teacher for Matsumi Elementary
I would like to share some interesting things that had happen for today so please enjoy reading my entry.
During my class, we began making a greeting/ thank you card for this years mother's day. I was a bit worried that If I explain the procedure in English, they might not clearly understand on what I was saying. But things turned out smoothly. The students were quite responsive with the word of actions that I was using such as CUT, FOLD, STICK or GLUE, and WRITE. Seeing them put much effort on their work made me understand how much they appreciate their mother and thought to myself that it was really adorable!
Writing in English was probably the challenging part since some students weren't confident enough. But with our guidance, we made it through till the last word.
Students had an option by inserting any word on how they wanted to describe their mother and how they wanted to personally thank them.
e.g. You are _________( the best, wonderful, beautiful, etc..)
Thank you _________( for everything, always, and I love you)
in conclusion, they have successfully made their own personal Hallmark cards!
I'm looking forward for the reaction of their mother. Hopefully, their mother might ask what it means and the students can explain it for them. Good luck everyone!
