春の句碑よりたちあがる怒涛音
rising up
from the monument of vernal haiku,
sound of surging waves

初鳴きや楸邨句碑にたたずめば
the first warbler's song....
for my pausing at the haiku monument
of Shuson

　　　　　　加藤楸邨句碑「隠岐やいま木の芽を囲む怒涛かな」



神主の衣のうすべに春の雨
watery pink...
the robe of the Shinto-priest,
rain in spring

島神のお祓ひ受くる木の芽雨
receiving
purification at the island-shrine,
rain in budding


後鳥羽上皇行在跡
梅真白行在跡の歌碑の数
whiteness of plum flowers...
from one waka-monument to another at the remain
of the retired-emperor exciled

※１２０１年、後鳥羽上皇は「新古今和歌集」の院宣。承久の乱（１２２１年）で隠岐へ。
　

隠岐空港

赤尾展望所ー西ノ島（沖に島根半島の影）

鳥雲に牛は寝転び馬は立ち
birds into clouds...
cattles remain lying down
horses standing



野に遊ぶたまに馬糞を踏むことも
playing on field,
occasionally I step...
horse dungs


通天橋ー国賀海岸
洞門の岩の七色春の潮
seven colors
of the cliff hollowed with waves,
the sea in spring


荒布採る観音岩の垂直に
arame seaweed taking...
Kannon-Iwa rock rises to her feet
vertically
※ Kannon; the Goddess of Mercy


黒木御所跡・後醍醐帝行在所（行在所は二説）
東風渡る笹の絹ずれ御所の跡
eastern wind blows
recalling the exiled Emperor's stay,
rustling through bamboo grass


観音岩遠望
どの雲も京を指しゆく雪椿
every cloud seems
heading for the then capital, Kyoto,
snow-camellias

（隠岐国分寺跡・１４Ｃー後醍醐帝行在所跡）
うぐひすや高々とある行在碑
a Japanese warbler...
exiled Emperor Godaigo's monument of stay
stands so high
　 ※行在跡は隠岐の島に二か所ある。後醍醐帝はこの後、島を脱出、鎌倉幕府滅亡へ。
　　　　そして建武中興、南北朝時代と時代は目まぐるしく変化。

住職の下駄に続きて青き踏む
steps on green grass
following the wooden clogs
of the chief priest


（絵は国分寺焼失後発掘調査中・後方に行在碑）

発掘の春泥に敷く青シート
laid on mud in spring
caused by digging up,
blue plastic sheets


　　　　　※　牛突きは同じく隠岐に流された後鳥羽院を慰めるために始まったという。

さえずりや隠岐の牡牛の土俵入り
birds twittering...
the bull with the champion cape
emerges into the ring　

牛突きの息のもつれる隠岐の土
getting into a tangle
the fighting bulls' puffs
on the earth of Oki
　 ※　闘牛は春の季語とあるので。


浄土ヶ浦
磯あそび漂流物にハングル語
playing at the stony shore...
some of the drifted things have
the Hangul alphabet

赤、青、白の玉石を拾い
ポケットに隠岐の小石や鳥雲に
in my pocket
a few pebbles of Oki...
birds into clouds


島後の山中・樹齢６，７百年
かぶら杉幹九つや雪解風（ゆきげかぜ）
why...nine stems
Kabura-sugi cedar has !
snow-melting wind

深浦滝（島後）
岩壁に太古の齢春の滝
dateless ages...
etched on the rocky wall,
a waterfall in spring

島根半島まで６０キロ
春の滝出雲を目指す雲の脚
a spring waterfall,
all clouds are heading for
Izumo, the devine country

島裏の春の小川の琴の音
at theisland back
a brook runs playing
the koto strings


やぶ椿入江の長き瑠璃の帯
bush camellias...
the sapphire belt of the inlet
stretches far

隠岐郡(こおり）隠岐の島町青き踏む
stepping on green grass
at Oki-no-Shimamachi
of Oki-Gun-County


玉若酢神社（隠岐最古）
はだら雪隠岐の草木の持つ言葉
snow left spotted...
every grass, every tree has words
in Oki island


八百杉（樹齢二千年以上）
大杉の樹齢はみだす春の空
stretching out
the giant cedar's age
of the spring sky...



※　Yaosugi cedar is over 2000 years old.
