UltraSoC, a leading developer of embedded analytics, today announced that the company has developed processor tracking technology to support products based on open source RISC-V architectures. UltraSoC has developed a set of specifications for processor tracking technology that will be provided to the RISC-V Foundation as part of the entire open source specification. In addition, UltraSoC is now the first ecosystem participant to offer this functionality.

Five core vendors have also announced that they support the new tracking specification, making the specification a key feature of software developers without worrying about what kind of processor they use; the delivery of the specification is RISC- V Ecosystem development process, which is an important step for vendors.

RISC-V is an open source instruction set architecture, originally developed by UC Berkeley, but is now being used more widely. UltraSoC is a member of the RISC-V Foundation, which is actively driving the growth of its surrounding ecosystem. The processor tracking function allows the software developer to look at the program in more detail, followed by a command, which becomes a key and necessary function for the software developer.

"RISC-V is a very good architecture: but only one architecture is not enough," said Rupert Baines, chief executive officer of UltraSoC. "Customers need a complete set of ecosystems that allow designers to control and drive innovation.UltraSoC is designed to take advantage of its own intellectual property (IP) products for debugging and development, which play an important role in supporting RISC-V processors Tracking technology is an important supporting force in the job. "

UltraSoC is working with major RISC-V core vendors including Andes Technology, Codasip, Roa Logic, SiFive and Syntacore to submit a report on processor tracking to RISC-V Foundation later in 2017 Format of the proposed, as the basis for the realization of open source standards.

"Our AndeStar ™ V5 architecture is a superset of RISC-V, which has sparked a lot of interest from customers," said Dr. Charlie Hong-Men Su, CTO and Senior Vice President, R & D, Crystal Technology. Of the product solutions and services, as well as the growing RISC-V ecosystem, Crystal Center Technologies has achieved a record of 2 billion units of shipments. Crystal Heart Technology continues to strengthen the RISC-V ecosystem, such as UltraSoC This release of important business processor tracking capabilities. "

"As more of our customers use RISC-V, the deployment and debugging will inevitably lead to a demand for rich and standardized ecosystems," said Karel Masarik, CEO of Codasip, said: "Let these ecosystems be in place, RISC-V is the first choice for all development teams and we are pleased to integrate the proposed tracking standards into our widely adopted Codix-Bk RISC-V processor IP and tools. "

Richard Herveille, general manager of Roa Logic, added: "From the point of view of debugging, processor tracking technology is a truly missing part of the RISC-V ecosystem, and UltraSoC has played a leading role as a start for the RISC-V Foundation Members of one of the members, we are pleased to see this important enhancement of the RISC-V ecosystem. "

"As the original inventor of RISC-V ISA, we SiFive has been happy to see the rapid growth of the RISC-V ecosystem," said Jack Kang, vice president of product and business development at SiFive. "We make the adoption pattern of SiFiveCoreplex IP simple and straightforward, including our 'learning-evaluation-purchase' purchase process, and UltraSoC's commercial processor tracking support technology will make RISC-V more easy."

"We are very pleased to work closely with UltraSoC to strengthen the RISC-V ecosystem, and we believe that a robust, proven debug infrastructure is critical and necessary for the success of RISC-V; the commercial level," said Alexander Redkin, chief executive officer of Syntacore. "The advent of RISC-V processor tracking technology has taken a big step forward and we are pleased to add this very popular feature to our SCRx core family of products." For example, how to test 74hc595 and how to program nrf51822.

UltraSoC last month attended the RISC-V Foundation seminar co-hosted by NVIDIA and Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) in Shanghai, China.

UltraSoC's Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) simplifies development and provides valuable embedded analytics for system-on-a-chip (SoC) designers. According to SemiCo Research, chip makers can double the profitability of many projects by using UltraSoC's technology in their development processes, while development costs can be reduced by a quarter. UltraSoC has more than a dozen highly regarded authorized customers, including Haisi (Huawei), Imagination Technologies, Movidius (now Intel) and the United States and the United States (Microsemi). UltraSoC's partners include Crystal Technology, ARM, Baysand, Cadence / Tensilica, CEVA, Codasip, Lauterbach, MIPS, Roa Logic, Syntacore and Teledyne LeCroy.

UltraSoC's RISC-V processor trace capability implementation will be available in the fourth quarter of 2017.For more information about electronic parts, please go to componentschip.com.
