Sake in New York

After packing up the brewery and pasteurizing the new sake so that we could put it to bed, I finally got back to my Osaka home at the end of April. After a few days to readjust to the real world, I packed my bags again and left for New York.
By the good offices of World Sake Imports, Tamagawa sake has been crossing the pond in limited quantities for a while now. This trip was to see what was happening to the sake in New York, meet some customers and generally spread the word about sake.
My hosts got me a great room with a view of the Empire State Building. Actually, the Chrysler Building, just out or reach of King Kong, is one of my favourite buildings in the world, so it was thrilling to scurry around Manhattan and catch gleaming glimpses of it through the skyscrapers.
I had a great time in New York (with a day in Washington DC thrown in). It was fantastic to see some of the famous New York energy devoted to spreading the word about sake. Even the Statue of Liberty is joining in. Keep up the good work, New Yorkers!
