We had great time making and tasting Maki-zushi today. Students have been longing for sushi making since the beginning of the year.... Hope everyone liked what s/he had made.

We had another busy day. Spring is in the air, but students worked hard.

1) Target class:
My group continued to practice use of O¤ª and WO¤ò, HE¤Ø and E¤¨. At this point, they should automatically choose HE when it is placed after location or name of place. O and WO can be tricky and there are many cases: but for now, as long as it is NOT part of a noun, and supporting subject or object, then we should use WO.

Then students reviewed Katakana. Everyone has forgotten so many Katakana!!! Where have Katakana been?? Students changed Hiragana words to Katakana, and read them aloud, and answer what they were.

Again, we practiced forming a sentence using Itsu-Dokode-Darega-Dareto-Nani wo shita format. Students have been very intimidated to create a sentence from scratch, but I now see they have more solid idea what to write, what to choose.

2) Outside recess/snack

3) Received T-shirt

4) We ran out of time and couldn't cover "taste". We learned adjectives to describe tastes last week, and students brought these work sheets home. Hope you can work on these adjectives during spring break.

5) Maki-zushi making went very smoothly. Thank you Atsuko-san, MIki-san and Kana-sensei for your help and Mako-san for giving us fruits!

6) Singing pratice

See you all at Sakura matsuri on the 14th!

We learned how to count and read numbers. Since we have practiced how to count from 1 to 10 in previous weeks, students are able to say those numbers by memory. In this week's class, we kept on practicing counting from 11 and up. We also learned how to write those numbers in Hiragana. What we paid a special attention to is how to write 10 ¤¸¤å¤¦. We checked the difference of¡¡¤¸¤å¤¦¡¢¤¸¤æ¤¦¡¢¤·¤å¤¦¡¢¤·¤æ¤¦. Students practiced writing by copying the text, but our goal is to be able to write them without the text.

We also learned a traditional song ¤¢¤ó¤¿¤¬¤¿¤É¤³¤µ. The lyric of this song is a little difficult to understand, but it's a fun song with a rhythm and a rhyme. We played the game with this song: jump, clap hands, sit down...on the sound of SA ¤µ. It was an exercise and we spent a lot of energey!
