Target Class-1st grade kanji / Kanji Kentei Level 10
-Quiz on Kanji characters 「日」「月」「年」 from last week
-New kanji characters relating to the days of the week 「火」「水」「木」「土」
-Review on 「日」「月」「金」
-Stroke orders of the above kanji characters and practice writing on paper
-Recite the date song –「日づけ歌」
-Exercises and worksheets as we learned vocabulary using the newly introduced kanji


The Summary of Toki Homeroom Activities:
-About Valentine’s Day in Japan: Compare and contrast
-Crossword puzzle using katakana loanwords for Valentine’s Day
-Analyze some statistics on gift giving at Valentine’s
-Making of Valentine hearts with origami paper
-さく文トピック: ‘Mame-maki’ – we went over what to include in the composition in order to organize as reviewing an example composition and how to use a composition masu-paper. Things to include are: topic, name, when, where, who, what, and opinions.


Things you can do at home
Target Class
-Complete your worksheets and review new vocabulary for a quiz next week
-Practice memorizing at least 3 sentences that contain the special Japanese dates
-Practice writing those introduced 4 kanji characters on masu-sheet that went home with students

Toki Homeroom
1. Read your entry from the Toki Class Library
2. Complete your composition on Mame-maki as you follow the examples studied in class
3. Worksheets #91 and #92 “Shashin o moto ni kakou!”
