Hello all,

Activities
1. Reading Japanese old stories (Tsuru no ongaeshi and Kasajizo) First, I read Tsuruno ongaeshi for the students. Second, we separated two groups and practiced reading each story, then read it out each other)
2. Kanji Karuta
Once we played kanji karuta together, we created own karuta. After that, we made pairs to play karuta individually
3. Crafting ornaments for Otukimi
After we went over what Otukimi is, we created own Otukimi ornaments. Some of them fold rabbit origami.
4. Reviewing Katakana and Kanji

Independent Work at Home
There are some work sheets in your folder. Just as a reminder, this is independent work, not home work. It is encouraged, but nothing force your kid to do. Please give kids a flexibility. For example, if your kid is taking Kanji exam, and wants to practice for it, instead of doing the work sheets, that is certainly fine!

For the parents
Thank you very much for supporting me to work with your kid in Keisho. I had great time here with the students, so I hope your kids are feeling same. Please take care.

Welcome back all!

I think the first class went well. This year we have 12 students in Asagi class. Some were in Asagi last year, but we have students from Wakatake as well as new students. I was pleasure to see them all.

Activities
1. Self introduction with self portrait
2. Shiritori (Building up vocabulary)
3. Writing journal of summer vacation with a picture
4. Origami

Independent Work at Home
In your folder, there are two kinds of prints. If it looks done, it was done in the class. No need to do more work. Please check what the students did, and keep them home.
If it looks blanks, that is independent work. If the students finished them, please put them back in the folder. I will check them.

For the parents
Regardin Kanji exam (Kanji Kentei), if your children are interested in it, please contact me as soon as possible. Some students in Asagi will take Grade 10. Payment due is October 3rd.
Regarding JLPT (Nihongo Kentei), based on my consult, I would say that it is a little too early for Asagi class students to take the exam. I am afraid, but I would be concerned it is a 100 minutes exam, and I think this is too long for the most of children. However, if your children are interested in it, please let me know.

Thank you.
