60's Garage Punk/Psyche Bandsの再評価/発掘はレニー・ケイ編纂の「Nuggets」に端を発し、70年代後半、グレッグ・ショウの「Pebbles」(AIP Records)のシリーズ、そして故デイヴ・ギブソンの「Boulders」(Moxie Records)のシリーズで本格化します。

「Boulders」は私にとっても思い入れのあるシリーズ。上記リンクの過去記事でちらっと書いております。

その「Pebbles」のグレッグ・ショウが1998年にその「Boulders」をCDに編集し直し、伝説の故デイヴ・ギブソン/Moxie Recordsのトリビュート・アルバムとしてリリースしたのが本盤。よって中身は青春のガレージ・パンクがギッシリ詰まった文句なしの超強力コンピレーション。

「Boulders」の特徴のひとつが収録アーティストをアルファベット順で並べるというのがあったのですが、このCDでもそれは踏襲されています。

デイヴ・ギブソン氏手書きのポスター、Bouldersのジャケットもこんな感じの手書きものでした。

ドイツのWay Backが1990年に出したテキサスのバンドを集めた編集盤。

ジャケットは地元の新聞「The Huston Post」仕立て、発効日は「April 31,1967」とシャレも利いています。
