いやいや、本当長い間ブログ更新をサボっておりました。
Oh well, I've not updated my blog such a long time.
新居の受け渡し、無事に7月27日に終わりましたが、当日は本当に大変でした。
We're done closing for the new house on the 27th, but it was kind of difficult.
というのも、当日9時に契約書にサインする予定だったんですが、その時点でまだ契約書ができていないという状態。
We're supposed to sign the papers at 9:00am on the day, but it didn't happen because those papers weren't ready yet.
理由は新居受け渡しの日の前日、書類の一部の日付が間違っているのが発覚。
The reason was that they figured out that the date on one of the papers was wrong.
結局、当日の午後2時前くらいにサインして、無事に契約が完了しました。
After all, we signed the papers around 2:00 and finally and finely completed the contract.
で、そのあと3日間、仕事を休んで荷物の移動と部屋の壁の色を変える為、ペインティング作業をしました。
And, We got 2days off after that and moved everything from the storage locker to the new house and painted the new rooms.
日本では家の壁を塗るって全然一般的じゃないけど、こっちではかなり身近なものみたいです。ちなみにこれはリビングの壁。
We don't paint by ourselves so much in Japan, but it's really common here in the US. This is a part of the living room.
手前の白っぽい色から、奥の緑に塗り替えました。
We painted the walls from white to green in the living room.
これは主寝室。灰色に塗りました。
This is our master room. We painted it gray.
一番大変だったのは、リビングから地下に繋がる階段の壁。
The hardest part was the wall by the stairs from the living room to the basement.
階段の一番上の段と地下の床に立てた脚立の上に長くて大きな板を渡し、それでも天井に届かないのでクーラーボックスも置いて、家族の中で一番背の高いパパが立って塗ってくれました。
We put long wood board on the top of the stairs and the top of a ladder on the floor in the basement. It wasn't high enough even for Ray who's tallest in our family, so we put a cooler box on the board as well.
階段の下ではAndyっちが板を支えております。
Andy held up the board underneath.
まぁそういう感じで、無事、パパママ、ブラッド君の協力を経て、一番難しい部分のペインティングを終え、その後、何日かかけて予定の場所を全て終える事ができました。
So, thanks to Andy's parents and brother, Brad's help, we finished the most difficult part. After that, we could get all the rooms done in some days.
今日で引越しから2週間経ちましたが、まだまだ荷物はガレージに詰まったままになっています。
It's been 2weeks since the moving, but there are still tons of boxes in the garage.
随分と普通の生活に近づきづつありますが、まだまだなので、マイペースではありますが最後まで片付け頑張っていきたいと思います。
Life's gradually getting back to normal, but there are still a lot things to do, so I'm going to finish organizing those at my pace.
という訳で、えらい久しぶりの更新にはなりましたが、相変わらずカリブーでも楽しく元気に過ごしております。
So, it took a while to update this, but I've been doing good and enjoyed working at caribou as usual.
