講師：井上美則氏
　　　オードリヘップバーンの来日時の通訳や、James Watson というノーベル化学賞の受賞者（この人の言葉は難解なので有名）の国際会議の通訳をするなど、経験豊かな国際会議通訳者。

企画内容：講師の持つノーハウを高校生にもわかるように、伝えたいと思って企画したもの。実際には社会人の人もたくさん参加する。逆に中学生、小学生も少ないが参加する人がいる。二部構成で、一部で、講師の講演：英語はなぜ必要か。通訳者になるためには。英語力向上は、日本語で考える力の向上が不可欠。二部はプロ通訳者（アシスタントが２人いる）による通訳実践をショー仕立てで行う。模擬体験コー名を設けます。

で、私の位置づけは、・・・当日の総合司会。桜の咲くころ、小豆島にある２校を除いて４３の高等等学校へ、車で案内チラシ、パンフをもって行きました。郵送料が高いので。この種のセミナーは人の数を集めたらいと思っていなくて、関心のある人に、一度井上さんの話しを聞かせてあげたいな。何かのきっかけになるかも知れない、というものです。優れた人の話しには感化力があります。だから私は小学生でもいいといいます。中味は高度なんです。大げさに言えば、眼を見張るほど高度なんです。が、それを感じさせないだろうと思われます。講師の井上氏は傑出した力を持った方なのです。これる人はぜひ、参加してください。お勧めします。

Matsushita and Hitachi will likely expand their production ability of loquid crystal panels double.Specifically,the two companies will jointly invest \ 80 billion and set up a (joint) company to start its operations in a new line in a plant in Chiba prefecture. They also build a new assembly plant in a east European country.This move is interpreted that the two ,which have placed emphasis on their plasma-type television sets as a staple product in the area of flat-panel television sets, are aiming to catch up with preceding companies such as Sharp and Samsung in South Korea.

倍増する：doubleを動詞として使うことも可能。上の例では、副詞で使った。
硬くても是対間違いない公式は、X 倍にの場合は、x times としてそれを副詞にすればいい。たとえば2.3倍に拡大するは、expand 目的語　2.3 times。

千葉県にある既存のある工場をそのまま使って、ある新しい生産ラインを作るという前提で上記の英文とした。この場合のa を使うことで、ある、という意味が表現できる。

likelyは便利な言葉で、上記の例では、・・・するらしいです、の感じ。実際の英語ではきわめて使われることが多い。将来、先のことで、そして自分がその当事者でない場合は、ほとんど使っても間違いがないと思われる。ただし、言葉の意味からいって、傍観的になる。が、ほとんどの場合の情報はそうしたものです。上の場合、松下及び日立の関係者がlikelyを使えば、おかしいでしょう。が、私が使うのはおかしくない。

The Social Insurance Agency has decided to accelerate its reform plans ,including auditing the business by outside experts, earlier than originally planned, because of recent appearance of a string of its illegal business practices. By a survey, the number of malpractice that the agency illegally has admitted pension premium payings to be eligible for exemption comes to 82,000 cases,covering 10 prefectures,including Tokyo Metropolitan Prefecture. As another measure ,dismissing some directors of the offices involed in the malpractice,which include a office in Shizuoka prefecture ,is now being deliberated.

According to a survey by The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, it is learned that plant and euipment investment will likely increase in double digits this year for the third consecutive year.Secifically, the electric machinery and material industries will play the leading part in the development.
In the non-manufactureing industries, the increase will be at 10.3%,which is the first double-digit figure in 15 years.

注：二桁は、形容詞はdouble-digit ( figure). 副詞句では　in duble digits.
連続は、consecutive 又succesive を入れる、又は in a row を使う。
for the third consecutive year in a row.
15年ぶりは、for the first time after a 15 year interval の形もあり。

「ユルスナールの靴」から

須賀敦子さんが亡くなってすでに十年近くがたつ。長らくイタリア詩の翻訳を彼の地されていたが、後年日本に帰ってから、エッセイをいくつか出された。夏目漱石を昭和によみがえらせて女にすれば、こんな文章を書くのだろうかと思わせるものがあったほどの、名文家であった。

次は、標題の作品の出だしである。

　きっちり足に合った靴さえあれば、じぶんはどこまでも歩いていけるはずだ。そう心のどこかで思いつづけ、完璧な靴に出会わなかった不幸をかこちながら、私はこれまで生きてきたような気がする。行きたいところ、行くべきところぜんぶにじぶんが行っていないのは、あるいは行くのをあきらめたのは、すべて、じぶんの足にぴったりな靴をもたなかったせいなのだ、と。

I'll try then:

Only if I had a pair of shoes firmly suitable for my feet, I would be able to walk to any place I like to do.Continuing thinking so somewhere in my mind,I feel like having lived my life while complaining about my misfortunes that I have not encountered a best-fit shoes.I think :the reason I have not gone to the place I wanted to do,and not all the places I should have to do,or I have given up wanting to go to such a place, is all because I have not had such a close-fitting shoes for my feet.
