When the night has come. And the land is dark. And the moon is the only light we see. Like
someone's song, in small village at north end the moon is the only light we see, but during
Squid and Pacific saury season, there are many fishing boat in the sea at night. Short day
means long night, and fortunately had weather permitted us to fish in the sea from pier.
The Korean rock fish, no idea why it's called Korean, Sebastes schlegelii Hilgendorf, 1880,
"Kurosoi" in Japanese is the genus Sebastes, containing the rockfishes, is the most species
rich genus in the family Scorpaenidae with approximately 110 species worldwide. The genus
Sebastes is usually called as Rockbass and Rockfish. Expert says big fly, big fish, it's very
interesting, some over 3 kgs and 60cm fish are reported.
Heard a good spot and how to from a local lure guy and some good email advice on fly from
expert. The local guy fishes here almost every day after days work said before yesterday
was good and yesterday was no so good. No big fish in Autumn he landed some 35cm+ fish
the day before. As I was told I walked and started at the end of the pier. The first contact,
was not on at the second cast. The first fish was unexpectedly easy, like first contact I felt
a sight touch and set hook. The current became strong, no idea why but after that whatever
I did no contact at all.
The local lure guy arrived and started, he said he got a bite at almost every cast and landed
a few fish shortly. I studied how he fish and got some more advice, then decided to change
the shooting head to type ¶(Slow sink). Yes, bingo!! I think my image was right, the happy hour
has come. Fish, one after another attacked my pike fly which is nearly 15cm and others.

Thanks guys, no decent fish but I really enjoyed it!
