In the afternoon, I suddenly and luckily got a free time to fish. As I requested for fresh water
bass, Charles took me to the Laguna Niguel Lake fishery for Black Bass. In Japan, because of
media, TV and magazines, America is like a dream country and Mecca for bass anglers especially
trophy bass. The lake is located in a park and during cold months they release farmed big trout
and it's very popular for both trout and bass anglers. Bass eat these trout and can be big nearly
5 kgs.

It's a very hot summer day, water was green and fish must stay in deep in this kind of condition.
First I tried heavy sinking like with clouser minnow completely same as I fished for calico the
other day. All I got was weeds, twigs, damn black tennis ball and plastic shipping bag. Charles got
a few bites and I decided to fish intermediate line with a very small crazy charley. Something
tried to bite, I thought it's small Bluegill or Crappie, but was a really small black bass. My first
ever mini bass was in Bass Mecca, Southern California, hahaha.

Something started to hatch, maybe midge, fry started to rise. We enjoyed it for a while. I caught
only a slightly bigger one on my worm fly later. Then I again tied floating minnow and hit the
bank. A couple of bites but no luck I could hook up none.

After fishing, I had his mother's home made dinner at this house. Thank you so much, Charles.
