■much, little は不加算名詞に使います
much time, much luck, little energy, little money
■many, few は加算名詞に使います
many friends, many people, few cars, few countries
■a lot(of), lots (of), plenty (of) は可算名詞、不可算名詞どちらにも使います
a lot of luck lots of time plenty of money
a lot of people lotgs of books plenty of ideas
多い、少ないは上記の語が使われますが、それぞれに使い方、意味合いの違いがあります
★plenty = more than enough 十分より多い
"Have some more to eat." "No, thank you. I've had plenty.
もっと食べて ありがとう。もう十分以上以上いただきました
（たくさんいただきました）
Theres no need to hurry. We've got plenty of time.
急ぐ必要はない 十分以上時間はある（たっぷり時間はある）
He's got no financial problems. He's got plenty of money.
彼は経済的問題はない。たっぷりお金をもっている
We can make omelettes for lunch. We have plenty of eggs.

★much, many は主に否定文、疑問文に使います
We didn't spend much money. お金はたくさん使いました

We'll have to hurry. We haven't got much time. 急がなくては、時間がない
★a lot (of), lots (of) を肯定文に使います
We spent a lot of money. (not 'much money)
たくさんお金を遣った（much money とは言わない）
There has been a lot of rain recently. (not 'much rain)
最近雨が多い （much rain とは言わない）
He talks a lot. 彼はよく話す （much とは言わない）

He talks too much. 彼はしゃべりすぎる。too あまりにもは much を使う
I can't drink this tea. There's too much sugar in it.
この紅茶は飲めない。砂糖があまりにも多く入ってる
★little, few に a が付いていないときは規定的な意味です。
Hurry up! We've got little time. 急いで！時間がない
He has very few friends. 彼はほとんど友達がいない
There is a shortage of water because there has been very little rain recently.
最近ほとんど雨が降らないので、水が不足している
★a little, a few は little, few （少ない）よりもっと肯定的な使い方をします
（＝some, a small amount, a small number)
Let's go and have a drink. We've got a little time before the train leaves.
(=some time, enough time to have a drink)
しばらく飲む時間はある、十分時間がある
いっぱい飲みにいこう。電車の時間までに飲む時間は十分ある
＊時間が少しあるから飲みに行こうと言うよりもっと肯定的で’十分’という意味合い
"Do you have any money?" "Yes, a little. Do you want to borrow some?"
お金持ってる? うん、持ってるよ。いくらか必要？
(a little = not much money but enough for you to borrow some)
a little は多くはもっていないが貸せるくらい持っているという意味合い

a few friends は多くはないが楽しむには十分の人数
