News from APOMA

2015-12-10 08:56:20 | OptiWorks
APOMA Members,
It is with shock and great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend Rick Nasca. Rick was a champion for our industry and for optics education.

Rick became involved in APOMA in the late 80's, always willing to share ideas, ask the question, make an introduction, or offer his support.

He helped to establish the Corning Foundation, which has allowed the Monroe Community College optics program to flourish, providing the workforce that our growing companies need, and a career path for those who hadn't thought college was right for them.

As a devoted supporter of the optics industry and its future, Rick was a familiar, friendly face that could always be found at events. Rick was a true friend, one of the good guys.

The impression Rick left on individuals and the industry was evident as hundreds gathered to support his wife Mariellen and their two daughters at his funeral this past weekend. We are committed to carrying on his work. In the days that come, we will share ways that APOMA will honor Rick's memory. Thank you for being part of this community and supporting each other.
