Actor, racer, cool guy Steve McQueen passed away 30 years ago last Sunday, November 7, 1980. I’ll admit right here, again, that I’m a fan, and enjoy most of McQueen’s movies and particularly appreciate him as a world class, intergalactic car guy. He wasn’t a collector in the classic sense, but I’d dub him more of a gatherer. And the bouncing, slamming ‘Mustang GT and Dodge Charger in Bullitt.
Last weekend, a group of McQueen family, friends, and fans got togeher to celebrate him on the 30th anniversary of his passing. Son Chad McQueen and his family were on hand to lead the parade, and accept the sign which will be hung at the Santa Monica/Highland intersection.
